Choose a display box
The three formats most UK brands choose between. Each one can be printed full colour inside and outside.
Counter Display Boxes | Shelf Ready Packaging | Floor Display Units | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where it sits | Next to the till or on a counter top | On the retailer's shelf, in the planogram space | Aisle ends, entrances and promotion areas |
| Usual board | E flute corrugated or white card | E flute or B flute corrugated | B flute corrugated |
| How it arrives | Filled and closed, lid folds back into a header | As a case; the front tears away on the shelf | Flat packed, built on site in minutes |
| Print area | Header card, front lip and sides | Front panel and lip, readable at shelf height | Header, side panels and shelf fronts |
| Good for | Impulse lines, samples, small packs | Grocery, health and household lines | Launches, gift ranges, bulk lines |
| Price | From £0.25 a box | From £0.25 a box | From £0.25 a box, quoted per job |
Every display is printed full colour, inside and outside if you need it. These are the finishes we add on top.

The board is picked by weight and by where the display will stand. Light products on a counter rarely need more than white card or E flute, while anything that stands on the floor or carries jars needs B flute or a stronger build. If you are not sure, send the product weight and we suggest a board on the quote.
| Board | Best for |
|---|---|
| E flute corrugated | Counter displays, shelf trays, pop up boxes |
| B flute corrugated | Floor units, dump bins, heavier products |
| White or kraft card | Small counter boxes, hanging cards, inserts |
| Rigid board | Lidded displays for gifts and candles |
We size every display from your product, not from a stock list. Tell us the width, depth and height of one item in millimetres, how many you want to show, and whether they stand up or lie flat. We then work out the tray, the angle of the header and the height of the front lip so the front row stays visible.
For shelf ready packaging, send the shelf depth and the retailer's case requirements if you have them. For floor units, tell us how many shelves and roughly what each shelf will carry so the build stays rigid.
Every order starts with a free design proof showing the dieline, your artwork and the finished size. Nothing is printed until you approve it.

A display has a few seconds and a small footprint to do its job. This is how we think about each one before we quote.
Counter space is the most fought over ground in any shop. A counter display box has to be narrow enough that the shop owner agrees to keep it by the till, tall enough that the header is read by someone standing in the queue, and shallow enough that the last few packs are still within reach. We start with your product and the counter it is heading for, then design the tray around both.
Most of our counter display boxes UK brands order are E flute corrugated with a fold back lid that turns into the header card. The box travels closed, the shop opens it in seconds, and nothing needs taping. A low front lip carries your name or the price point, so the product stays the hero.
Shelf ready packaging is one case doing two jobs. It protects the stock on the way to the shop and then becomes the tray on the shelf once the perforated front is torn away. Store staff replenish a whole case at once instead of facing up single packs, and your branding is on the front edge where a shopper's eyes land.
Retailers often have rules about case sizes, perforation and how the tray must open. Send whatever guidance your buyer has given you and we build the dieline to it, with your print running across the panels that stay visible on the shelf.
Floor displays cost more space and more board, so they suit moments when you want to be noticed: a launch, a gifting range, a promotion agreed with a store, or a bulky product that will not fit on a counter. A shelved floor unit gives you a printed header at eye level and three or four shelves of stock below it.
A dump bin is simpler. It is a deep open bin for loose items that shoppers rummage through, like sweets, dog chews or small toys. Both are made from B flute so they keep their shape while being restocked, and both ship flat to keep delivery sensible.
People look at a display from one to three metres away, often while doing something else. We suggest one strong message on the header, your logo large enough to be read at that distance, and the product photo or name on the front lip. Fine print belongs on the pack itself.
We print full colour on the outside and, when it helps, on the inside walls too, because the inside of an open display is visible from above. Matt or gloss lamination protects the print from handling; spot UV or foil can lift a logo on the header without changing the rest of the artwork.
Yes, and most of ours are. A display box for lip balm is a different shape from one for jam jars or greetings cards. We work from the size of one item and the number you want on show, add dividers or a die cut insert if the products need holding in rows, and set the header height to suit.
Three things get you an accurate price quickly: the size of one product in mm, how many items the display should hold, and the quantity of displays. Add the board and finish if you know them; if not, we suggest them. Artwork can follow later, since the proof stage is where it is placed on the dieline.
