Where in a shop do these displays go?

Away from the till, a display competes with whole aisles of products. On the shelf it has to make a block of your packs stand out; at the aisle end it has to stop people walking past; on a peg wall it has to win a glance among dozens of cards. Each placement asks for a different build, which is why this range covers five quite different formats.

The placement also sets how far away the shopper is. A shelf tray is read from arm's length, a floor unit from several metres, and a hanging card from the middle of an aisle, so the print and type size change with each one.

When should I use shelf ready packaging?

When your product sells from a regular shelf in a grocery, pharmacy or convenience store, and especially when a buyer has asked for it. Shelf ready packaging is a case that tears open into a tray, so staff fill the shelf in one movement and your brand sits on the tray edge.

Even without a buyer's request, shelf ready cases help independent shops that fill shelves before opening, because one case goes out in seconds and looks tidy.

When is a floor unit or dump bin better?

When you want to be found by people who were not looking for you. Floor units and bins stand where traffic is heavy: aisle ends, entrances and checkouts. They suit launches, promotions and bulky or loose products. Both are built from B flute so they keep their shape for the length of a promotion.

  • Floor unit: packaged products on shelves with a header at eye level.
  • Dump bin: loose wrapped items that shoppers pick from a pile.
  • Display stand: a smaller tiered unit for a counter or table.

Where do hanging cards fit in?

Peg walls, gondola ends and clip strips by the till. Hanging cards take almost no space and let small items such as balms, cables and accessories sit at eye level. They are often the cheapest way into a new shop.

Hanging cards also work on counter stands with pegs, which brings peg space to shops without a wall. A stand of hanging cards beside the till is a common first display for small accessory brands.

How do you plan a shelf or floor display?

Retailer guidance on case sizes or floor unit heights should come first; we draw to it.

  1. Agree the space with the shop or buyer: shelf depth, footprint or peg type.
  2. Measure your product and decide how many should be on show.
  3. Estimate the weight a shelf or bin will carry.
  4. Choose the style and board, or ask us to suggest them.
  5. Send artwork or ask for a proof with your logo placed.

Which board do these displays need?

Weight decides it. Shelf trays and stands for light products use E flute. Anything on the floor, anything holding glass and anything with loose stock pushing on the walls needs B flute, often with a stronger base. Hanging cards are printed on card stiff enough to hang flat. We confirm the board on every quote.

What do shelf and floor displays cost?

Every style starts from £0.25 a box, and the quote reflects size, board, print and quantity. Floor units cost more than counter displays because they use more board, but minimums stay low and quoted per job. Production takes 5 to 7 working days after you approve the free proof, and delivery is free and tracked to the UK mainland.

Can these displays be posted to several stores?

Yes. All of them ship flat. Tell us the store addresses when you ask for a price and we include split delivery on the quote. Floor units go one to a carton with their header and shelves inside.

Each carton is labelled clearly so store staff know what is inside before opening it.

Shelf and Floor Displays FAQs

More answers in Help

What is the difference between a display stand and a floor unit?

A stand sits on a counter or table; a floor unit stands on the floor and is taller and stronger.

Do floor units come with a header?

Yes. The header usually slots in separately so it can be changed.

Is shelf ready packaging the same as a tray?

It is a shipping case that becomes a tray when the front tears away.

Can a dump bin go on a counter?

A small counter dispenser can. Full dump bins stand on the floor.

What hooks do hanging cards fit?

Standard peg hooks with a euro slot, and clip strips with a round hole.

Which of these displays ship flat?

All of them ship flat and build without tape.

How long do floor displays last?

They are built for promotions of a few weeks to a few months.

Can I follow a store's display rules?

Yes. Send the guidance with your quote request and we draw to it.

Which display suits a launch?

A floor unit for big launches, a stand for counters and tables.

Do you print all sides of a bin?

Yes. Bins are seen from every side, so we print them all.
